Cloves are a wonder-spice. We use them when making chai, just lightly bashed with cinnamon sticks (the bits that fall off in the bottom of the jar are ideal!) and whole cardamom to make ours at home. sometimes we add a bit of star anise or a couple of black peppercorns too. Depends on the weather outside!
